California's Maria Remenyi wins Miss USA pageant in Miami Beach in 1966

Miami Beach, Fla., (AP) - A dimpled, brown-haired beauty from California who is studying to become an atomic scientist was crowned Miss USA Saturday night.

The new queen, Maria Remenyi of el Cerrito, came to the United States in 1965 as a Hungarian refugee.
