California Lass New Miss USA
Miami Beach, Fla., (AP) - A dimpled, brown-haired beauty from California who is studying to become an atomic scientist was crowned Miss USA Saturday night.
The new queen, Maria Remenyi of el Cerrito, came to the United States in 1965 as a Hungarian refugee.

The News published a list of Miami area restaurants for the benefit of Republicans who were in town for their convention.
Miami News columnist Herb Rau categorized the restaurants by price: Elegant, Moderate and Inexpensive.
Some of those on the list are Bernard's, Les Violins, Flamenco, Casa Santiago, The Cattleman, Promenade, Chez Vendome, Mouse Trap, Roney Pub, Embers, The Famous, Hasta and the Red Coach Grill.
